Jayalalithaa's lungs decongestion treatment is being continued: Apollo

Chennai, Oct 8 (IBNS): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalaithaa is undergoing treatment for lungs decongestion , Apollo Hospital said on Saturday.

The hospital said she has been kept under constant monitoring.

The statement issued by the hospital read: "The Honourable Chief Minister continues to be under constant monitoring by the Intensivists and Consultants in the panel."

"The respiratory support is closely watched and adjusted," the hospital said.

It said: "Lungs decongestion treatment is being continued."


Officials from Apollo Hospitals, where the lawmaker is undergoing treatment, earlier said she needs a longer stay there.

Her AIADMK tweeted: "Puratchi Thalaivi Amma is under constant monitoring by intensivists & consultants, Respiratory support is closely watched - Apollo Hospital."
