J&K: Militants attack govt building in Pampore

Srinagar, Oct 10 (IBNS): In an ongoing firefight with militants , one army man was injured in Pampore town of south Kashmir after militants stormed a government building.

According to reports, around 6:30 am on Monday, heavily armed militants attacked a police party outside the JKEDI building and ran inside the
premises of the government building.

Senior army official in Srinagar told reporter that army and police has cordoned off the building and in the initial firing one army jawan suffered bullet injuries, adding that two to three militants are believed to be trapped inside the building.

In February this year, the same building came under militant attack which lasted for 48- hours, resulting in death of three Para commandos and three militants.
