Cop gets death threat for recital of ‘Kashmir to hoga lekin Pakistan…’ poem
“Friends, I’m getting threats from enemies (Pakistani citizens). One of them wants to kill me but I’m happy that a panic has gripped the enemy camps. I swear by martyrs from my motherland to destroy their race if I come across them,” Thakur has said in his Facebook post.
According to reports, the constable received the death threats shortly after his video went viral in the media in the aftermath of terrorist attack at army camp in Uri, Kashmir last month.
The 130-second video with Thakur reciting the poem—“Kashmir to hoga lekin Pakistan nahi hoga (Kashmir would remain, Pakistan would not)”— apparently was shot on a bus carrying police personnel.
The video sends a warning to Pakistan that any “misadventure” on its part would “wipe it out from the world map” the next time and warns it to keep within its limit.
As per media report, the video was uploaded on Kargil Day (July 26).
In the video, the constable is heard reciting loudly that if there is another war, there won’t be Pakistan although Kashmir will remain.
