Manohar Parrikar expects more defence contracts to be signed in current financial year

Mumbai/New Delhi, Oct 13 (IBNS): Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar expects another Rs 50,000-60,000 cr worth of defence contracts to be signed during current financial year, the media reported on Thursday.

With more contracts likely to be signed during the remaining period this financial year, the minister expects total orders to increase to nearly rupees three trillion since he took charge of the ministry.

Parrikar was speaking to the media on the sidelines of an industrial exhibition held in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.

"Great to see the technological advancements & innovations at MET 2016 International Engineering Exhibition in Navi Mumbai," Parrikar tweeted.

He said most of the deal have been made within the frame of the central government's 'Made in India' scheme, media reported.
