Karnataka police officer allegedly commits suicide

Kolkar, Karnataka, Oct 18 (IBNS) : A police officer in Karnataka allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself from his service revolver in his office on Tuesday morning.

Media reports said Raghavendra, an inspector, was found dead in his office at a police station in Kolar, around 70 km from state capital Bengaluru. 

Police said it appeared that he shot himself with his service revolver. It is yet to be known why he did it.

According to reports, Raghavendra had come under the scrutiny of the anti-corruption watchdog, Lokayukta,  2012. After the inquiry, he went on to an executive posting.
