BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha criticises Centre over OROP issue

New Delhi, Nov 5 (IBNS); Senior BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha on Saturday criticised the Centre over the handling of their OROP issue following suicide committed by an ex-serviceman recently.

Sinha said the situation could have been handled in a much 'practical and fair manner'.

"I wish the Delhi situation after the death/suicide of an army veteran was handled in a more matured, proper, practical and fair manner," he tweeted.

"Instead of sympathy, the martyr's family got beaten up, that too in Police Station (where else?). And leaders with huge followings, who...matter in society, were detained with brute force & taken into custody. Why don't we understand that opposition leaders are not enemies," he said.

"And let's not shoot the messenger. Central issue of OROP must be addressed in the larger interest of our Jawans & the Nation.Soon. Jai Hind!" he said.

The issue of OROP once again triggered a debate recently after ex-serviceman Ram Kishen Grewal committed suicide over the matter.
