Assam job scam : Several minister, MLA, government officials names come to light
A top police official said that, several politicians including former minister, MLA, government officials, police officials, actress name are come to light in the job scam in APSC.
“During the interrogation Rakesh Paul disclosed several names in connection with the job scam and now we have collected evidence against the people,” the top police official said.
Meanwhile, Assam police has issued notice against the APSC member Samedur Rahman who is still absconding.
Earlier Dibrugarh police arrested Mabud Ali Choudhury the PSO of Samedur Rahman in connection with the job scam.
Police also arrested an enginerr from Upper Assam’s Dibrugarh district after police caught him red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from a dentist to appint in the Assam Medical College Hospital (AMCH) on October 27.
The arrested engineer was identified as Naba Kumar Patir and he is an assistant engineer of Town and Country Planning department of Assam government posted at Dibrugarh town.
On the other hand, the Dibrugarh district SP said that, another member of APSC Basanta Doley to come under police scanner after official documents set ablaze of APSC in its campus on November 5 evening.
Meanwhile, police had raided the APSC office on Monday evening and sealed several strong rooms.
“We have sealed three strong rooms where the documents of the examinations are stored which were held during Rakesh Paul tenure,” top police official Raunak Ali Hazarika said.
Earlier police raided two houses of Rakesh Paul and a printing press of Paul’s brother in Guwahati and seized several answer scripts.
