Both houses of Parliament adjourned over TMC, Opposition protest
While Rajya Sabha had resumed after adjournment it had to be adjourned again over TMC protest till noon.
Speaker Sumitra Mahajan also adjourned the Lok Sabha over TMC protest led by Kalyan Banerjee. He even accused Speaker Sumitra Mahajan of being partial and acting on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said reports.
Trinamool Congress MPs on Wednesday earlier protested outside the Parliament against alleged attack on them by ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lawmakers during the budget speech a day ago, a charge that has been strongly denied by the BJP.
TMC MPs like Kalyan Banerjee, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, Shatabdi Roy, Derek O'Brien and others were seen raising slogans against the alleged attack on them along with placards denouncing the railway budget and fare hikes.
"The government is doing nothing to stop price rise which is affecting the poor and common people," said Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar speaking to media who on Tuesday alleged that she was attacked by the BJP inside Parliament.
Trinamool Congress MPs on Tuesday alleged that they were physically threatened and attacked by the BJP members inside Parliament during the Railway Budget speech as TV footage showed several TMC lawmakers rushing out of the House and seeking help.
TMC was angry with no announcement for West Bengal in the budget and had disrupted the speech of Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda leading to the ruckus.
TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee was seen rushing out and running outside followed by several other TMC MPs. He said the BJP MPs tried to beat them up and terrorised the women MPs.
Trinamool MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar said a drunk BJP MP threatened them. BJP, however, denied it completely.
BJP MP Harish Dwivedi, accused of the attack, said they had done nothing but only intervened when TMC MPs abused Narendra Modi and called his budget one on "Adani model"
According to reports, BJP lawmaker Kalraj Mishra prevented his lawmaker from turning violent.
