New Delhi, Nov 16 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said the media has played a crucial role in spreading the message of cleanliness.

"Media has played a very good role in furthering the message of cleanliness," Modi said.

He made the remarks while addressing at the National Press Day event.

Remembering the emergency period, he said: "We remember how the press council ceased to exist during the Emergency. Things normalised after Morarji Bhai became PM."
