Stranded tourists rescue: Six Navy ships deployed to Havelock Island

New Delhi, Dec 9 (IBNS): Six Navy ships have been deployed to Havelock Island to rescue the stranded tourists, officials said on Friday.

"#HADR Six Navy ships Karmukh Kumbhir Bitra Baratang LCU 37 & LCU 38 being deployed to Havelock for tourist evacuation @SpokespersonMoD," SpokespersonNavy tweeted.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday assured family members of tourists  stranded on HavelockIsland are safe.

Tourists are stranded in Andamans' tourist magnet Havelock Island owing to storm as the Indian Navy has engaged itself in a rescue mission, defence sources said.
