Kerala: Three students, resort owner drown in Periyar river
The resort owner died while saving the three students.
The deceased students are from St Stephen's College.
The incident took place near Paniyeli Poru, a picnic spot on the outskirts of Kochi.
The deceased have been identified as Bahar Anubhav Chandra from Bihar, Aditya Patel from UP and Kenneth Jose from Wayanad.
The students along with 10 others from the same institution were touring Kerela and stayed in the resort owned by their friend's father Benny Abraham, the Times of India reported.
St Stephen's principal John Varghese said, "Aditya Patel and Anubhav Chandra were in the final year of the undergraduate programme and Kennet Jose had just joined the college."
Last month a similar incident took place in Kolkata, where a varsity student drowned while taking a boat ride.
