Digital transaction: Assam govt announces incentive and monetary benefits
Following the Centre’s announcement of monetary benefits to promote cashless transactions among the people of the country, Assam government also added few incentive and monetary benefits with it for the people of Assam.
During a press conference held in Guwahati, Assam finance minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said the state government will offer another 0.75% discount on the price of diesel and petrol to the customers if they pay electronically.
Earlier Union government had announced to give 0.75% discount with it.
“Now customers of the state will get the cash back of equivalent to 1.5% of the price of diesel and petrol purchased into their accounts and it will be effective from Jan 1, 2017,” the Assam minister said.
The Assam minister said that, all patients whose user charges in government hospitals, medical colleges are Rs 500 and above will be reduced by 10% for those who pay electronically.
“Property tax and trade license fee charged by ULB’s will be reduced by 10%,” Sarma said.
The Assam minister said that, such GPSS will get a cash award of Rs 25,000 in 100& payments are made digital continuously from Jan 1-June 30, 2017.
“During this period, such FPS will get a cash award of Rs 10,000 in 100% digital payments,” Sarma said.
Sarma further said that, such bank branch in rural areas will be awarded CM’s Award for Assam Rural Digital Initiative 2016-17 with cash of Rs 50,000 during the period of Jan 1-March 31, 2017.
The Assam government also announced other awards like Uttam Panchayat, Krishak Shiromoni in digital transactions.
The Assam minister also said that all entry tax for POS machine, VSAT dish antennae, mobile will be exempted up to Mar 31 next year.
The Assam government had also announced the Digital District Championship Award for the district administrations.
