Patna, Dec 21 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): Vigilance sleuths have registered a case against 16 persons, including a senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Bihar cadre, for alleged misappropriation of government funds.

The defalcated funds were meant to be paid as scholarship to the students from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes during the year 2013-14.

“We have registered a case against 16 persons with regard to scholarship scam,” director general of Vigilance Investigation Bureau Ravinder Kumar was quoted as saying in a local media today.

The accused persons are found guilty of allegedly paying scholarship to some 25 students even after they left the institute after study.

All these students were enrolled at Gonna Institute of Information Technology and Science, Vishakhapatnam (Andhra Pradish), as per reports.
