Patna, Dec 29 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): Slain journalist Rajdeo Ranjan’s widow Asha Ranjan has registered a case after she received a murder threat from an unknown caller.

According to the victim, the caller first inquired from her about Mohammad Shahabuddin before directing to withdraw case failing which she would be murdered beyond recognition.

“There has been too much of drama (over the murder). Now just withdraw the case from Supreme Court lest your will be chopped into pieces,” the victim said in her complaint petition. The victim received the threats on the night of Dec 26.

In view of the murder threats, the victim has sought more security from the police.

The incident comes barely a fortnight before the Supreme Court is to hear her petition seeking shifting of Shahabuddin to Delhi’s Tihar jail from Siwan jail so that the witnesses in her husband murder case are not influenced.

This murder case is currently being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation and the probe is learnt to have reached the final stage.

Ranjan, a journalist with the Hindi daily Hindustan, was shot dead from a close range by shooters in May this year while returning home from office in the evening.
