BJP only option in UP, up to You to decide whether corruption and underdevelopment will stay : PM Modi at Lucknow rally
Addressing his Parivartan rally, the first one since demonetisation was announced on November eight, Modi was in his usual self, ranting and ridiculing all the opposition parties allegedly for not trying to block reforms, and harping on the development chord.
All opposition parties, he said, "are obsessed with Modi hatao (remove Modi) Me?," he said, referring to the opposition clamour against demonetisation.
"They say remove Modi, I say remove black money, they say remove Modi, I say remove corruption. You decide what we want to remove," the PM asked a huge crowd.
Modi said to transform India the first precondition is to transform Uttar Pradesh, which goes to Assembly polls early this year.
"When you are voting in this election, please look at the development and future of Uttar Pradesh..But development has been on Vanvas (exile) in UP...Sadly, development is not a priority for the rulers here..."
"There is only the BJP, whose aim is to save Uttar Pradesh...There is one party with minimal presence in UP, that is trying for 15 years to establish their leader but with little success," he said.
Without taking the name, Modi flayed the Congress, saying the party has still not succeeded in installing the son as its top boss, while accusing Mayawati Bahujan Samaj Party of amassing ill-gotten wealth and taunting the ruling Samajwadi Party as one where the main family is engaged in a family feud.
"There is only one option for Uttar Pradesh," the PM said, "and it is the BJP."
"After seeing this rally, I do not think there is any surprise in guessing who will win in Uttar Pradesh," Modi said.
