Hyderabad, Jan 7 (IBNS): A class 9 student in Hyderabad hung himself with a stole after being allegedly humiliated for not paying fees, media reports said.

The victim identified as Mirza Salman Baig came home from school on Wednesday, locked himself in a room and then allegedly hung himself with a stole.

According to his brother, the school authorities "pulled his pants down and made him sit with much younger boys" for not being able to pay the school fees.

The principal of Talent School, Khaja Zainulabedin, has been arrested after Salman's family filed a police complaint against the school management.

According to the family, the continuous harassment by school management drove the 16-year-old boy to commit suicide.

The police have registered a case of abetment to suicide and seized some documents from the school.

Students and teachers of the school have also been questioned.

The parents of Salman reportedly said that they could not pay the school fees for two months owing to the currency ban.
