Jammu, Jan 9 (IBNS): At least three labourers were killed when militants attacked a General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Akhnoor district on Monday, media reports said.

Security forces have cordoned off the area following the attack.

This was the first major militant attack in Jammu and Kashmir in 2017.

Officers from the Border Roads Engineering Service and personnel from the General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) form the parent cadre of the Border Roads Organisation.

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) develops and maintains road networks in India's border areas and friendly neighbouring countries.
