Tamil Nadu :Police cane crowd protesting ban on Jallikattu, arrest several people in Madurai
Madurai, Jan 14 (IBNS) : Police reportedly used baton to tackle a crowd protesting against the ban on Jallikattu, the traditional bull fight game of Tamil Nadu during Pongal festival in Madurai's Avaniapuram area on Saturday, reports said.
The police also held several people for allegedly trying to defy a ban on the game.
Heavy police force was deployed in several areas as various organisations have decided to violate the ban and organise the sport.
