New Delhi, Jan 18 (IBNS) : In an unexpected turn of event, the role of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) is being suspected in the Kanpur train accident in November after the arrest of three men by Bihar police.

Altogether  150 people were killed when 14 coaches of the Indore-Patna Express rolled off the tracks around 100 km from Kanpur on November 20.

According to media reports, the  investigation into the incident took a new turn after three men, arrested on Tuesday by Bihar police, reportedly admitted that  they were working for the ISI to target Indian railways.

According to police, one Shamsul Hoda  is believed to be a man behind the train accident.

On Hoda's order, one Brajkishore Giri and a few other men allegedly planted IEDs on the track which the Indore Patna Express was to take, and also used gas cutters to damage it.

Shamsul Hoda is allegedly linked to the ISI.

His role was allegedly corroborated by the three arrested persons- Moti Paswan, Uma Shankar Patel and Mukesh Yadav.

Police said the trio was paid by Brajkishore Giri.

They were arrested in connection with the murder of two young men in Motihari around 150 km from Patna.

Meanwhile, a note issued by the Ministry of Railways said the two youths- Arun and Deepak Ram- were killed on October 1 by Brajkishore Giri because they had failed to trigger pressure cooker bombs on railway tracks on Septembe.r 30.

The exact cause of the November 20 accident is still under investigation, the note said.

The Bihar police say during their interrogation, the arrested men have provided "positive leads".
