Assam govt to encourage ties with NASSCOM, Japan Council for Start-up, Stand-up initiatives

Guwahati, Jan 18 (IBNS): NASSCOM, Japan Council Chief Yukio Takeyari on Wednesday called on Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in the latter’s office chamber in Assam Secretariat and expressed the organisation’s keen interests to tie up with Assam in Government’s Start-up, Stand-up initiatives for conclusive and mutual growth of both the geographical entities.

Yukio Takeyari who led a three member Japanese delegation met Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and expressed his country’s inclination to invest in Start-up and Stand-up ventures and give a boost to Assam’s agriculture, food processing and tourism sectors.

Sonowal while welcoming NASSCOM Japan Council’s endeavour, assured to extend all support from his government that addresses various aspects to stimulate the growth of business ties.

He also maintained that Assam Government is also in favour of better collaborative relations with NASSCOM Japan Council to extend and materialise a coordinated approach to bolster the wellbeing of India and Japan.

“With this beginning, we will also aim to undertake activities which will make Assam a favoured destination of Japanese investments and make inroads for seamless communication between the two geographical entities,” Sonowal said.

Emphasising the need for student exchange and extensive people to people contact programme between Assam and Japan, Sonowal said that the cultural and racial affinities between Assam and Japan would further strengthen ties between the two.

Yukio Takeyari who was accompanied by Takafumi Nishi CEO of Matsubaya Store Company Limited and Shiho Sakaguchi researcher of Future Venture Capital Company Limited also vowed to carry forward the ties in various application areas through mutual reciprocities.

Assam IT Minister Keshab Mahanta, Chief Secretary V.K. Pipersenia, MD AMTRON M.K. Yadava were also present at the meeting.
