Jallikattu: Centre clears ordinance

New Delhi, Jan 20 (IBNS): The Centre on Friday cleared the ordinance regarding Jallikkattu as proposed by Tamil Nadu government.

Kuldeep Dhatwalia, Additional Director General (Media & Communication - MHA), Press Information Bureau, tweeted: "Centre has cleared the ordinance regarding Jallikkattu as proposed by Tamil Nadu government. @PIB_India."

Tamil Nadu has been witnessing major protest over the issue of Jallikkattu.

The  agitation in favour of the traditional bull taming sport in Tamil Nadu snowballed into a huge upsurge with thousands of people swarming Chennai's Marina beach in recent days.
