New Delhi, Feb 4 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday greeted people of Sri Lanka as the island nation celebrated its Independence Day.

Modi called Sri Lanka a 'valued freind' and 'neighbour'.

"Independence Day greetings to the people of Sri Lanka, a valued friend & neighbour. May Sri Lanka continue to prosper in the years to come," Modi tweeted.
