India and Belgium agree to work together for wider digital empowerment

New Delhi, Feb 7 (IBNS): India and Belgium agreed to work together on digital empowerment of people during a ministerial level meeting in New Delhi, according to media reports on Tuesday.

While the Indian side was led by Union Minister for Law & Justice, Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad, the delegates from Belgium were led by the country's Deputy Minister Alexander De Croo.

Tweeted Prasad on Tuesday,"Deputy Prime Minister @alexanderdecroo & I expressed our commitment to work together to prevent misuse of internet for terrorism & hate."

"Had a meaningful discussion with the delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister of Belgium on areas of mutual interest," said Ravi Shankar Prasad.

In another tweet, Prasad said, "#DigitalIndia & Digital Belgium affirmed their commitment to work together for digital empowerment of people."
