West Bengal: Two Bangladeshi nationals held for photographing Farakka barrage
According to reports, two residents of Nawabganj in Bangladesh, Md. Ziaur Rahman and Abdur Razzak, were held by CISF jawans for snapping pictures of Farakka dam, where photography is strictly prohibited.
"We detained two men from Bangladesh for taking snaps of Farakka Barrage near its Gate No. 55, which is a no photography zone, and seized their passports and mobile phones," a senior official of CISF told IBNS.
"As we found several videos of state's rail-routes and their replies could not satisfy us, we handed them over later to the local police," the official said.
However, after taking them to own custody, police from Farakka Police Station have started investigation into the matter and the duo is being quizzed currently.
