President of India greets the Irish people on the eve of St. Patrick’s Day
In a message to the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, the Indian President said, “On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, I extend warm greetings and felicitations to you and to the friendly people of Ireland on the occasion of St. Patrick’s Day.
India and Ireland enjoy warm and friendly ties that are deeply rooted in history. We have together built a multifaceted partnership based on mutual trust and friendship. I am confident that our co-operation-bilateral and in the multilateral arena will continue to expand and deepen in the years to come.
I take this opportunity to convey my best wishes for Your Excellency’s good health and well-being, and for the progress and prosperity of the people of Ireland.”
Saint Patrick's Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick traditionally marks the day saint Saint Patrick (c. AD 385–461), the foremost patron saint of Ireland, passed away.
