N Biren Singh to face floor test tomorrow, BJP fears getting 'poached' by Congress
Ahead of floor test, the saffron party fears about getting "poached" by the Congress and for it, the party has taken adequate measures to avoid any situation as Chief Minister N Biren Singh facing problems in trust vote.
Not taking of any risk before floor test, BJP has lodged its newly elected legislators at a Guwahati based hotel for past four days.
A top source said that, 17 BJP legislators have been lodged at Hotel Lilly in Guwahati along with a Trinamool Congress and an Independent lawmaker since March 16.
The saffron party has taken measures to lodge the legislators in the capital city of Assam to avoid getting poached ahead of trust vote in Manipur assembly.
But the BJP has denied it and stated that, Chief Minister N Biren Singh would win the floor test.
Ahead of the trust vote in the state assembly on Monday, a top leader of Manipur BJP said that, there is nothing like fear of poaching by the Congress.
"The party legislators are here just to relax and some of them come here for their personal purpose. The newly elected legislators also meet some top party leaders after the election," the top Manipur BJP leader said.
Meanwhile, Assam Finance minister and convenor of North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is known as one of the key person in bringing BJP in power in the north eastern Indian state, has engaged few his fellow MLAs and party activists of Assam to treat the Manipur legislators.
N Biren Singh was sworn in as the first BJP Chief Minister of Manipur on March 16.
Only two BJP MLAs including CM were inducted in the BJP led ministry, while four MLAs of NPP, one each of NPF, LJP and the Congress legislator who joined the saffron party were included in the ministry.
BJP won 21 seats and formed the state government with support of four each MLAs of NPP and NPF, one MLA of LJP and one each lawmaker of Congress and Trinamool Congress who joined the saffron party.
