Assam Forest Minister inaugurates CWRC photo exhibition
CWRC is a jointly run wildlife care facility run by Assam Forest Department (AFD) and Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) with international partner International Fund for Wildlife Welfare (IFAW).
“It is an appreciable initiative of CWRC. Their never ending effort for securing the wildlife is the strength of the centre. I personally witnessed the activity. The specialised wildlife care service of Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation for rescue and rehabilitation of wildlife has put them at a standard not only securing Kaziranga but the whole northeast. I wish for the best of CWRC and their growth as well,” Pramila Rani Brahma said after inaugurating the three day long photo exhibition.
Dr Parimal Chandra Bhattacharjee, Trustee, Wildlife Trust of India, Dr Rathin Barman, Deputy Director and CWRC Manager along with other dignitaries attended the inaugural function too.
Till December 2016, CWRC has attended 4661 wildlife cases.
It has handled species 246 during past 15 years of service.
The number of release 2689 (60.70%).
