New Delhi, Mar 31 (IBNS): Samajwadi Party MP of Rajya Sabha Naresh Agarwal on Friday criticised Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulakar and actress Rekha for poor attendance in the Upper House, media reports.

Speaking about prolonged absence of two icons of India in different fields, Agarwal said: "We have been yearning to see the presence of the nominated members. They never come to the house. The entire session is over but we haven't seen them, be that Tendulkar or film actress Rekha or the others."

The MP even went on to say that both Tendulkar and Rekha must resign if they are unwilling to come to the house.

However, Tendulkar refused to make any comment when asked about his poor attendance in the RS.

Earlier, several MPs like Tendulkar, Rekha and Mithun Chakraborty were criticised for poor attendance.

Mithun later resigned from the Rajya Sabha citing his health reasons.
