Women will be able to retain maiden names in passport: PM Modi
New Delhi, Apr 13 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday evening announced that women can now on retain their maiden names in their passports even after the marriage.
He made this announcement while addressing the 50th year celebrations of IMC Ladies Wing in Mumbai via Video Conferencing.
"From now, women need not change their maiden names in the passport after marriage," said Modi.
Modi said that from now on women will be at the centre of all development schemes.
