Kumbakonam school fire tragedy: Court to give verdict today

Thanjavur, July 30 (IBNS): The District and Sessions Court in Thanjavur will deliver its verdict in the Kumbakonam school fire tragedy case which left 94 people killed in 2004.

The chargesheet filed by the prosecution named 21 people.

On July 17, the final arguments into the case had concluded at the District and Sessions Court in Thanjavur.

Inbaraj, who lost both his sons Praveen Raj and Anand Raj, told NDTV: "The punishment should be so stringent that it should be a lesson for others. None should suffer like us, losing children."

Ninety-four children were killed as a fire broke out at a school in  Kumbakonam town in Tamil Nadu on July 16, 2004.
