Dehradun, May 3 (IBNS) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday visited the Kedarnath temple to be the first person to offer prayers after the doors of the shrine were thrown open for devotees after a six-month winter break, reports said.
The PM was accompanied by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and Governor KK Paul.
He arrived in an army chopper at the helipad built close to the temple.
Modi offered prayers and performed a 'rudrabhishek' in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.
He spent abut 20 minutes in the shrine.
