Guwahati, May 4 (IBNS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Assam state government will provide interim pension for the women who have been divorced under the provision of triple talaq.

Assam finance and health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said that, we have introduced a provision in the draft population policy of Assam which is being renamed as Population and Women Empower Policy as to provide skill education and employment for all divorces and single women.

"The state government decided to provide interim family pension for such victims who have been divorced under the triple talaq provision," the Assam minister said.
