Patna, May 20 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): Indian President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will very soon taste the luscious Shahi litchis of Bihar.

According to a report published in a local Hindi daily, a team of officials visited some litchi gardens in Muzaffarpur on Friday to examine the quality of fruit but it was not found to be ready.

“It tasted sour. Now we will examine its quality again on May 22 and 23,” a local agriculture official Vikas Kumar was quoted as saying in a local media on Saturday.

Agriculture scientists said this time the ripening of fruit had gone a bit late by one week owing to frequent climatic changes.

As per the report, President and the PM would be sent one ton of Shahi litchis each this time. Last year too, litchis had been sent to them.

Muzaffapur, some 80 km from Patna, has been famous for Shahi litchis.
