Was coerced by Twitter, says Paresh Rawal after deleting his tweet on Arundhati Roy
On May 21, the actor who mastered several kinds of character on screen, said that author Arundhati Roy should have been tied in the jeep by the Army instead of stone pelters, following the release of a video which revealed that a Major had tied up a protester on the bonnet of a jeep to have an easy access amidst stone pelting.
The incident which was revealed in the video occurred during an election in Kashmir.
On Wednesday, the Major was also being honoured by the Army chief.
Though Rawal has deleted his post but it had already took the social networking site to a storm.
Sonu Nigam who has even deleted his Twitter account on Wednesday blaming the social networking site as 'one sided', supported Rawal in a tweet and said that if "a woman can endorse a picture of Gautam Gambhir in the front of the Army jeep, why should he be mocked for doing exactly the same?"
Regarding Rawal's comment on the author, Sonu even said that if she has the right to have an opinion then billion of people have the right to "feel let down too".
