Paris Agreement is a shared legacy of the world: Modi
He said the agreement will benefit the future generations.
Modi made the remark while making a joint press meet with French President Emmanuel Macron.
"Paris Agreement is a shared legacy of the world. It will benefit the future generations as well," the Indian Prime Minister, who is on a visit to France, said.
He said: "Paris Agreement reflects our duty towards protecting the Earth and our natural resources. For us, this is an article of faith."
US President Donald Trump recently announced his nation will withdraw from the 2015 Paris climate agreement.
Modi said the current generation should maintain natural resources for future.
Modi said the world is currently facing terrorism as one of the 'biggest challenges'.
Speaking on developing India-France relationships, Modi said: "We want to improve the cultural relations between India and France. Several Indians fought in the first two world wars for world peace."
The Indian Prime Minister, who arrived in France after visiting Russia, said: "Be it trade and technology, innovation and investment, energy, education and enterprise, we want to give a boost to India-France ties."
Modi said India and France enjoy deep-rooted ties.
Modi is currently visiting four nations during his six-day tour.
