Kolkata/Cooch Behar, Jun 10 (IBNS): A large number of Trinamool Congress (TMC) activists allegedly scuffled with police force during the court production of a local TMC leader, who is the prime accused in a murder case, in front of Cooch Behar court in West Bengal on Saturday, reports said.

According to reports, a local TMC activist, Subhash Roy, was killed on May 18 and after starting investigation into the matter, police booked 13 persons, including TMC leader Kalishankar Roy, in connection with the case.

While the accused were being produced in a local court in Cooch Behar district on Saturday morning, followers, companions and relatives of killed party activist Subhash Roy attacked their prison van and scuffled with the security personnel.

Few policemen and civic volunteers were hurt in the incident.

Later, a heavy police force rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control.

However, all accused were produced in the court later safely amid a huge police presence and the court sent them to 14-day judicial custody.
