Chennai, June 11 (IBNS): Deepa Jayakumar, niece of late J Jayalalithaa was on Sunday denied entry to Poes Garden, the house of the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister in Chennai, media reports said.

Jayakumar, who recently announced her own party, told mediapersons that she had gone to Jayalalithaa's residence following the invitation of her brother Deepak.

On being denied entry, her supporters staged protest.

They alleged that supporters of TTV Dhinakaran, the nephew of Sasikala and the general secretary of the faction she leads, stopped Jayakumar from entering the posh property.

After Jayalalithaa passed away, the Poes Garden house was occupied by AIADMK general secretary V K Sasikala, who was also the live-in aide of the ex-TN Chief Minister during her lifetime.

Sasikala is presently in jail following the Supreme Court order to uphold her conviction in the disproportionate wealth case.
