Patna, June 20 (IBNS) The Income Tax department has filed serious charges against Lalu Yadav's wife Rabri Devi, daughter Misa Bharti and Bihar Deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav, according to an NDTV report.

The charges were brought under the Benami Transactions Act.

The IT department has served attachment notice under for assets worth over Rs. 9 crore against  Yadav's family, the channel reported.

The Income Tax department last month had summoned RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Misa Bharti and her son-in-law over the benami land deals and tax evasion.

The IT department had asked Misa and her husband to appear in the first week of June as a part of an investigation where their statements would be recorded.

The summons were issued after the arrest of chartered accountant Rajesh Kumar Agarwal made by the Enforcement Directorate couple   who alleged Lalu's daughter of his involvement in the case.
