Union minister urinates in public, puts Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in question

Patna, June 30 (IBNS): Raising questions on the effectiveness of PM Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Union agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh, was caught urinating in public at his own constituency East Champaran of Bihar on Thursday.

While asked about his act by the media, Mohan cited the lack of urinal on road as the reason.

The picture of Mohan urinating on the walls of a house in the middle of his journey with the security looking away, was uploaded by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on their Twitter handle.

"Agriculture minister was starting the irrigation abhiyan amid the tight security. He accelerated the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan too" RJD captioned the pictures on Twitter.

BJP's spokesperson in Bihar, Rajib Ranjan, was quoted by Hindustan Times as saying, "One cannot suppress nature’s call for long. What do you do if you are travelling long distances and there are no public urinals on the way? There is absolutely nothing wrong in what the minister did.”

However, no report could suggest as to who clicked the picture.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched by the Narendra Modi government on Gandhi birthday in 2014 for cleanliness. It aims to stop the open defecation and also create public urinals.
