Guwahati, July 2 (IBNS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) faces another trouble after an activist of Assam’s Karbi Anglong district filed a petition before the Guwahati High Court against Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Chief Executive Member (CEM) who has allegedly raped a minor girl.

The activist sought court intervention into the matter.

BJP scripted victory of the council polls with sweeping majority by winning 24 seats out of 26.

Before forming the new council, the BJP is facing trouble after the petition has been filed before the high court against the present CEM of the council.

According to the reports, an activist of the hill district filed the petition before the court on June 30 last and sought a CBI probe into the rape incident.

The activist said in his petition that, Tuliram Ronghang has tried to destroy all evidence of the rape incident by using political, muscle power and also threatened the rape victim and her family.

The activist also alleged that, Karbi Anglong police had also worked in favour of Tuliram Ronghang.

In his petition, the activist said that, the rape victim and her family had already left from Karbi Anglong after getting life threatening.

It is to be mentioned that, a case was registered against Tuliram Ronghang at Nagaon police station after an FIR was filed by the rape victim in last year.
