New Delhi, July 4 (IBNS): President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on the eve of their National Day.

In a message to Nicolas Maduro Moros, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Mukherjee said, “On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me immense pleasure to extend warm greetings and felicitations to the Government and the people of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on the occasion of your National Day."

"Relations between India and Venezuela have traditionally been close and friendly. Exchanges of bilateral visits have contributed to the further expansion of our economic ties – particularly in the field of energy. I am confident that our co-operation will expand to new areas of shared interests in the years to come," he said.

"I take this opportunity to convey my best wishes for your personal well-being and happiness and for the continued progress and prosperity of the friendly people of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela," the President said.
