Five militants of different outfits arrested in Manipur, arms-ammu recovered

Imphal, July 10 (IBNS) : The Manipur police have arrested five militants, including a woman, belonging to different outfits from different areas of the north eastern Indian state, officials said.

According to the reports, following intelligence input, Manipur police on Saturday evening had launched operation at Oinam Sawombung area in Imphal valley and arrested an active member of banned outfit Kabgleipak Communist Party (Lamyanba Khuman) and recovered one point 32 mm pistol with magazine, five rounds live ammunition and a Chinese made hand grenade in possession from him.

The arrested militant was identified as Thoudam Premkumar Singh and police also arrested one of his associate named Md Manir Khan.

On the other hand, a team of Manipur police have arrested a woman cadre of United National Liberation Front (UNLF).

She was identified as 29-year-old Mutum Sumila Chanu.

She was arrested from her house at Warukok Awang Leikai area in Thoubal district on Saturday.

In separate operation, police arrested two militants belonging to Kuki National Front (Indian) from Langol Games village in Imphal West district on Saturday morning.

The arrested militants were identified as Sanglian Neisial and Seiboi Vaiphei.

A top official of Manipur police said that, both were involved in several extortion cases at the area.
