Will extend support to Nitish if he lands in trouble over Tejashwi: BJP

Patna, July 10 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): The opposition BJP on Monday announced to extend support to the Nitish Kumar government in Bihar in case it lands in trouble in the event of Kumar sacking his deputy Tejashwi Yadav.

“The BJP will extend outside support to the Nitish Kumar government if it lands in trouble after the chief minister sacks Tejashwi. The BJP will not join the government,” state BJP president Nityanand Rai told the media, adding a fresh twist to the state politics.

The BJP “offer” comes amid reports that the chief minister is not happy with the continuation of “tainted” Tejashwi in his government.

But in an open challenge to the chief minister, the RJD declared Tejashwi will not resign from the government and said the case against him was registered as part of a political conspiracy to “destabilize” the government.

The party apparently took this “decision” at a meeting of RJD legislators held here.

Tejashwi has been named as an accused in the land-for-hotel scandal by the CBI along with his parents. The scandal allegedly took place while his father Lalu Prasad was the railway minister.
