Mayawati's resignation from Rajya Sabha accepted
Mayawati resigned from the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday after she stormed out of the house alleging that she was not being allowed to speak on atrocities on Dalits.
She alleged that her voice was being muzzled.
"If I'm not allowed to speak right now, I will resign right away. I will come and give my resignation right now," Mayawati threatened, before she actually quit later that day.
According to reports, her three-page resignation was not accepted on technical ground-not being limited and laying down conditions.
The second resignation letter Mayawati carried on Thursday while visiting the Vice President was hand-written and in the presribed format and it was accepted.
Mayawati was nine months short of completing her term in the Rajya Sabha.
