Assam Governor, CM, Arunachal Pradesh Governor congratulate Kovind
In a statement Governor Purohit said that Ram Nath Kovind who hails from Uttar Pradesh has had an illustrious career wherein he worked for amelioration of the weaker sections of the society.
He also said that his stint as the Governor of Bihar and his subsequent election to the post of President would augur well for sustainable positive actions for the development of whole of the country.
“His vast experience as a member of the Rajya Sabha would help him to carry forward the rich legacy of Rashtrapati Bhavan and contribute to the growth and development of the country,” Purohit said.
On the other hand, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal congratulated Ram Nath Kovind on his election as the 14th President of India on Thursday.
In a telephonic conversation, Sonowal congratulated Kovind and termed the election as good news for the people of Assam and the North East along with the rest of the country.
Sonowal also expressed hope that the entire region would see a new dimension in terms of all round developed in future.
Sonowal who was one of the proposers of the nomination papers of the NDA candidate, further mentioned in a statement that Ram Nath Kovind is well known for his strong advocacy of the rights of the weaker section of the society, social development and spread of education. With his election as President, the nation building process would receive greater impetus, the Chief Minister stated.
“Starting his journey from a farmer’s family, Kovind Ji is now all set to adorn the top constitutional post of the country. His vast knowledge and understanding about the Constitution will immensely benefit the nation,” Sonowal said.
Arunachal Pradesh Governor PB Acharya also congratulated Ram Nath Kovind on his success in the Presidential election.
In his congratulatory message, the Governor expressed his confidence that under Kovind’s leadership, India will reach the ‘Guru’s position in the world as peaceful and prosperous Nation.
