Breakdown of grand alliance a plan chalked out by JD(U)-BJP: Lalu Prasad

Ranchi, July 27 (IBNS): Attacking Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar unsparingly for choosing the new ally partner overnight, RJD chief Lalu Prasad said the breakdown of the grand alliance was a plan chalked out by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Kumar.

Hours after his oath taking as the Chief Minister again, Lalu attacked Nitish for forging an alliance with BJP .

"The resignation of Nitish ji (Nitish) and joining BJP was a fixed match," said Lalu.

He even stated the CBI allegations against him were planned by Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi.

The RJD chief even preferred to take on PM Modi and BJP President Amit Shah over the recent political turmoil in Bihar.

"Amit Shah and Narendra Modi had anger over my solid political base in Bihar" Lalu said.

He even termed Nitish as one "greedy of power". Adding to that, Lalu said: "We are not greedy to capture political power. If we were, would have not allowed Nitish to become CM in 2015 after RJD secured the maximum number of seats."

In 2015 Assembly election, the grand alliance formed by the Nitish-led JD(U), Lalu-led RJD and the Congress shattered BJP's dream of capturing the political power in Bihar.

Though Nitish was the CM candidate of the grand alliance, RJD emerged as the largest party in the Assembly after the poll.

Calling Nitish a betrayer, Lalu said: "Bihar's mandate was against the BJP for five years. We sent back Narendra Modi and Amit Shah bare feet from Bihar after the poll in 2015."

Lalu even brought the killing of Mahatma Gandhi by Nathuram Godse in the context of Bihar's political turmoil.

Referring to both Modi and Shah, the RJD chief said: "Now there is no Gandhi ji (Mahatma Gandhi) in the country. RSS people had killed Gandhi and Nitish (Nitish Kumar) is siding with them."

Kumar took oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar on Thursday morning.

The JD(U) chief, who severed his ties with RJD over corruption issue, formed the new government with the support of the BJP.

Along with Nitish, BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state.

The rift between Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad of RJD had reached a flashpoint over corruption issue when deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav and his father Lalu Yadav had ruled out resignation of Tejashwi over a CBI probe arguing that a fake case was filed against him.

Meanwhile, after a meeting with Bihar Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi last night, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said RJD being the largest political party in the Assembly, the former must give them the opportunity to form the government first.

The Bihar CM will have to prove his majority on Friday.

Nitish became the CM of the state for the sixth time.
