Send Sanjay Dutt to jail if rules were flouted: Maharashtra govt to Bombay HC
Dutt, who was convicted by the Supreme Court in arms possession case four years ago, got release from the prison in 2016.
He was released prior to the completion of the term of his imprisonment considering his good conduct.
However, the Bombay HC asked the Maharashtra government to clarify the reason behind Dutt's release prior to the completion of his five years jail term.
The 57-year-old actor was convicted for acquiring illegal guns from those men who were behind the 1993 Mumbai serial bombings that killed many people.
The actor had the opportunity to leave the jail and stay with family even during his jail term.
The actor is widely known for his role played in Munnabhai MBBS which released in 2003.
