Patna, Aug 4 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): Authorities in Bihar on Friday sealed the illegally-operating slaughter house in Bhojpur district, a day after three persons were thrashed by an angry mob for allegedly transporting ‘beef’ in a truck.

“The illegally running slaughter house has been sealed and three persons arrested in the connection,” Bhojpur district magistrate Sanjeev Kumar told the media on Friday.

The arrested persons include Sarfuddin (45), Azimulla Khan (44) and Gulam Khan (50).

According to the DM, raids are on to nab another three persons who are absconding.

The illegal slaughter house was running at Ranisagar village.

According to officials, a police force led by the Deputy Superintendent of Police Dayashankar has been deployed at the village as a precautionary measure in view of prevailing tension.

The sealing of the slaughter house takes place a day after three persons were thrashed by a frenzied mob in Bihar for allegedly carrying beef in a truck.

The incident took place in Shahpur locality of Bhojpur district on Thursday. As per media reports, the mob was led by Bajrang Dal activists

As reported in the media, the cow vigilante groups stopped a truck on the suspicion of carrying beef and beat the three persons including the driver.

The victims were later rescued by a team of police. Police later seized the truck and sent the meat for testing.

This was the first major incident of beating of persons on the charge of carrying beef soon after the change of guard in Bihar barely a week back.
