Vice President election sees over 90 per cent polling by one pm on Saturday
According to the polling officer, “90.8% votes polled till 1 PM. 730 members out of 785 have cast their votes."
Voting began at 10am and will conclude a 5pm.
NDA backed Venkaiah Naidu and Opposition's joint candidate Gopal Krishna Gandhi are in the fray for the Vice President election.
BJP veteran Naidu was the former Information and Broadcasting minister of the Modi government and also held various other portfolios.
Former Governor of West Bengal, Gopal Krishna Gandhi, was nominated by the 18 opposition parties as their candidate for the V-P poll.
Naidu is likely to become the next VP of the country as the BJP-led NDA dominates the share of electoral votes, according to reports.
