PSLV-C39 Flight carrying Navigation Satellite fails, says ISRO
According to Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), PSLV-C39 had a normal lift-off at 7:00 p.m. and all the flight events took place exactly as planned, except heat shield separation which resulted in satellite separation occurring within the heat shield.
ISRO chairman AS Kiran Kumar said the PSLV C39 stumbled in the fourth and last stage when the launcher had to release the satellite into the orbit.
IRNSS-1H was manufactured by a consortium led by Alpha Design Technologies, a defence equipment supplier from Bengaluru.
The satellite is inside the heat shield resulting in the unsuccessful mission.
Detailed analysis is under progress to identify the cause of the anomaly in the heat shield separation event.
